Does it sometimes seem like everyone is talking at once? Here on the Internet, where so many unique voices and ideas are basically right in front of you at any given moment, it can all start to feel so very loud. No matter how perfect or beautiful a thing might be on it’s own, it still has to find a way to be heard above the roar of the crowd.
A good design can quiet the cacaphony so that relevance and meaning can be brought to the foreground. This isn’t always easy. Shutting out interesting things just so something else can have the stage can feel pretty harsh. Unfortunately, simplification is actually more of a destructive act than a creative one.
I believe in volontary simplification when it’s destructive in a good way. I like to destroy loud complicated expressions of ego by being simple candid mind, like just by reminding of the wonders of the universe to the ambitious, as for example the “One pixel Moon” demonstrate it very well in its brilliant way. I’m loud too in my way. :-)
