font-size: var(--awb-font-size); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\"> :<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform); font-size: 20px; line-height: 37px;\" data-fusion-font=\"true\"><br \/>\nClosed Door Fallacy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A logical error wherein one begins with a clearly defined premise and methodically presents a series of consistent statements to arrive at a conclusion that no one wants to hear.<\/p>\n<p class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"--fontsize: 16; line-height: 1.75; --minfontsize: 16;\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"28px\"><strong style=\"font-size: 20px; line-height: 37px;\" data-fusion-font=\"true\"><br \/>\nAppeal to Captivity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A logical error wherein one asserts that the truth of a proposition must be true because it has been confirmed by a team of scientists locked in one\u2019s basement.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"--fontsize: 16; line-height: 1.75; --minfontsize: 16;\" data-fontsize=\"16\" data-lineheight=\"28px\"><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-size: 20px;\" data-fusion-font=\"true\"><strong><br \/>\nAd Minimem Reasoning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An argumentative tactic which attempts to undermine an opponent\u2019s position by attacking the moral shortcomings of the advertiser sponsoring the argument, while failing to recognize that the same advertiser is sponsoring one\u2019s own argument and that we\u2019re all just part of the same machine, brah.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px; line-height: 37px;\" data-fusion-font=\"true\"><br \/>\nFalse Dominion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: var(--awb-text-font-family); font-size: var(--awb-font-size); font-style: var(--awb-text-font-style); letter-spacing: var(--awb-letter-spacing); text-align: var(--awb-content-alignment); text-transform: var(--awb-text-transform);\">The mistaken notion that the needs of one group outweigh the needs of another, simply because one group consists of your whining children and the other group consists of loyal, obedient Lego mini-figs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px; line-height: 32px;\" data-fusion-font=\"true\"><br \/>\nSoiled Redundancy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A situation in which the speaker cedes a key position of their argument, and yet here we go again, back to the whole thing about the laundry piles.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px; line-height: 32px;\" data-fusion-font=\"true\"><br \/>\nTanned Evidence<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When presenting anecdotal evidence in support of an argument, the anecdotes are all about a recent trip to Barbados with Lawrence, when we all know Lawrence is bad news.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px; line-height: 37px;\" data-fusion-font=\"true\"><br \/>\nMasked Premise<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An attempt to define a concept by breaking down and defining its constituent parts, while still wearing a Freddy Krueger mask from last Halloween.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px; line-height: 37px;\" data-fusion-font=\"true\"><br \/>\nInvasive Reasoning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An error in which one reaches a conclusion through a series of rational statements without acknowledging what appears to be a glowing craft of some sort, hovering just above the horizon.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px; line-height: 37px;\" data-fusion-font=\"true\"><br \/>\nThe Haberdasher Fallacy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A misconception which occurs when one receives a compliment on one\u2019s hat and answers, \u201cWhat? This old thing?\u201d except the old thing is not a hat, it\u2019s grandma\u2019s bra.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px; line-height: 37px;\" data-fusion-font=\"true\"><br \/>\nWhirlpool Reasoning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When a person believes just because no one is watching while loading the dishwasher, that it\u2019s ok to place a plastic cup in the top rack, knowing full well that the top rack is where the fluorocarbons collect. Think, people! This battle will not be won without mental discipline!<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px; line-height: 37px;\" data-fusion-font=\"true\"><br \/>\nDungaree Fallacy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An attempt to communicate a free-thinking disregard for authority by wearing jeans to a formal debate, followed by the realization that one has forgotten to put them on.<\/p>\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: 20px; line-height: 37px;\" data-fusion-font=\"true\"><br \/>\nThe Janet Fallacy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A failure to acknowledge the complete lack of decorum around here and a subsequent failure to question why it\u2019s so hard to engage in civilized discourse without all the shouting and carrying on from certain people.
