You’ve probably heard the phrase “bored people are boring” – most likely when you were a kid whining to your parents about having nothing to do. But did you know that words that end in “ed” can often be substituted with the same word ending in “ing” to create clever, pedantic idioms pertaining to the effect of one’s emotional state on the rest of the world?
Here are a just a few:
- Interested people are interesting
- Tired people are tiring
- Depressed people are depressing
- Loved people are loving
- Excited people are exciting
- Annoyed people are annoying
Try them on your friends!

I think that loved is that I may, where others may think that I love others when they stay away from me for they care more for others who are as they should, where should not is what is God supposed to be, but maying what is, as children be, for they are what they like without self-effacement, that is that I may.
