So we’ve still got a virus that’s debilitating the country.
So it feels like giving a friend a pat on the back will set off an announcement that says “containment breach sector 7.”
So the President is openly rigging the election like a third-world dictator.
So we’re headed for civil war.
So your job is hanging by a thread.
So your Grandma is dropping QAnon conspiracies during your weekly phone call.
So there’s rioting in the streets.
So the police force forgot to disband the KKK.
So the skies have turned red.
So the mall is so empty you wouldn’t be surprised to see a zombie at the Wetzel’s Pretzels.
So your kids are crashing your zoom meetings.
So your neighbor is pointing a rifle at GrubHub delivery guy.

Let’s look on the bright side!

Sure, there are a lot of changes, but most of them are things that we should have been changing all along. Covid was just the kick in the pants we needed. Like pressing the fast forward button on the DVR remote of social progress.

We were already wondering how people would be expected to survive when they couldn’t find a job.
We were already wondering why we didn’t take more time to appreciate the role of teachers, grocery store baggers and delivery workers.
We were already wondering why more people didn’t just work from home instead of wasting time and gas on commuting.
We were already wondering why we can’t have a proper discussion about racial equality.
We were already wondering why the government is a dumpster fire.
We were already wondering if maybe we should be spending more time with our kids.
We were already wondering what would become of higher education when there’s a You Tube tutorial for everything.
We were already wondering when major studios would start letting us watch first-run movies at home instead of making us go to the theater.

Turn that frown upside-down. Things are looking up!
