Deep6 AI
The smart folks at Deep6 AI asked me to take a stab at the user interface for their tool that streamlines the process of identifying qualified candidates for clinical trials. Medical researchers enter free-form text from clinical trial protocols which is then analyzed by an AI-powered natural language processor that’s well-versed in medical terminology. When the analysis is complete, the tool compares the clinical trial criteria to a hospital’s patient records and generates a list of possible candidates who’s lives might be saved or improved by drugs or procedures that haven’t yet hit the mainstream.
This project was a great example of how machine intelligence, combined with human expertise and an almost invisible UI has the potential to erase the complexity from essential tasks.
